Old Cameras

 My girlfriend and I recently took a trip back to the east coast to visit family and friends. In 2 weeks we hit Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. While in PA we stopped by a hole in the wall antique store in McAlevy’s Fort. This is what it looked like when I walked in the door:



Amongst all the clutter and chaos the guy had probably 40 - 50 photo cameras and 8mm home movie cameras. Here are a few:


I ended up buying the Kodak duaflex III in the top left corner of the above pic for $10. I also ended up buying an 8mm Bolex home movie camera, in perfect condition, for $50. The camera is a beautiful thing to look at, just an amazingly well crafted piece of art. It's too bad digital cameras don't have the craftsmanship aesthetic that old cameras often do.
